I have never seen this before. In the bus at the Athens airport all of the handles have a small area where you can place a text ad. While you grab the handle you glance at the ad. I have not seen this anywhere else so I was wondering if it is a good way to advertise. Has anyone else seen this on buses or metro in the city where you live? (read more)
I saw this clever idea inside a two-story store. Usually you take your shopping cart inside a regular elevator to move across the floors. But with this one you just place the cart on the rail and it travels the same time with you. Much faster and convenient. Thumbs up to whomever thought it first! (read more)
I was at the bookstore the other day looking at the travel section and I saw a travel guide series from Lonely Planet specifically dedicated to people who want to travel through a country on bicycle. I am a motorcycle enthusiast so right away I thought why not a motorcycle? Have you seen a travel guide series specifically dedicated to motorcycle travel for different countries? (read more)
What do you think of the guy in the photo? When I took the photo I don't recall him being there. I can't explain why he looks transparent when everything else around him is so clearly defined. Even the mountains in the back are not shaken. Any photo experts can explain this or is this a ghost?
A lot of my friends had their birthdays around February and March and I was thinking what would happen if you were born the 29th of February? When would you celebrate your birthday? Once every 4 years? Any of you in this situation?
What would you do if you had bought a house and could not pay off the mortgage? Most probably you'd loose it. Not this guy.
I just read this article and I found the story worth sharing. A guy in Madrid, Spain who could not make the monthly mortgage payments decided to make a lottery out of his house. Basically he is selling 64000 lottery tickets at a price of 5 euros. Whoever has the winning ticket gets the house. With all tickets sold that would make 320000 euros, which is 120000 more than the market price of the house. So not only does he not loose his house but he also found a way to make money out of it. Clever, no? (read more)
Looking from my office window I spotted this strange black thing moving in the sky. The way it was flying seemed very strange so I started taking photos of it. A lot of sudden a fighter plane moves towards it. What could this be?
What do you think of all these webpages and small programs that diffuse the TV signal on the internet for free? The quality is not the best but it is great to be able to watch your favorite shows and movies from your home country or even major sport events for free. (read more)
Maybe there is such a device but I am not aware of it. When you buy a used car there is a counter/odometer that tells you many kms have been put on that car's engine. But when you buy a boat there is nothing to tell you how many miles or hours that engine was used for. Would it be nice if boat engines had a counter of some sort that would tell you how used an engine is? Is there such a device? Should it become a standard?
Every summer huge areas of forest are lost as a result of fires started by arsonists or plain accidents. Unfortunately when weather conditions are unfavorable they get so big that it is impossible to turn them off. Why not develop some type of liquid that you could throw on areas of the forest that would make trees and plants resistant to fire for an extended period of time like months or perhaps years and prevent the plants from burning. The liquid would have to be harmless to plants. The method would be similar to the planes and helicopters that throw water to extinguish the fire but water dries out in a few hours.
