If the Church wants people to stay to the end during longer ceremonies why don't they make seats more comfortable? I think that if seating at the Church was more anatomic people would come more often and stay longer. In addition to good artists that make beautiful religious icons, I think the Church should also hire better seat designers (read more)

restricted view seats in an opera is when you can't read the surtitles from where you're seating. why can't the opera houses provide individual text-scrolling devices on those seats? a small hand-held device that streams text is not rocket science and it doesn't cost much to buy and provide. if you can't change the view, work around it!

If you want to drive first-class with a car then you order a limousine where the seats are made from leather. If you want to fly first-class in a plane, shouldn't the seats also be made from leather, at least? Or from silk if your wallet is fat enough? Premium service and cute flight attendants are nice, but what's the fun of paying so much money to fly first-class if not to also pamper your ass with leather or silk?

Movie theater seats are first-come first-serve in the US whereas in other countries they are numbered, which means that even if you come to the movie late you will still get the good seat you paid for. Personally I like the numbered system better because I like to book my tickets in advance. Which system do you think is better?

If genius and talent is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration then what a better way to measure those two on a live theatrical play through the body responses of the audience! What if the seats the audience sits on were made to gather that data. In the movie "The Lives of Others" Stasi uses an interrogation technique where the suspect keeps his sweaty palms pressed to the seat of his chair so as to get a sample of his sweat on an impregnated cloth before it can be given to a tracker dog to sniff. It's quite ironic to me that celebrities, among the few in this world who can afford the best things in life, often end up getting them for free. Case in point: The blockbuster film in the making in the courtside seats at Lakers games. Apparently some stars, including perennial seat filler/heckler Jack Nicholson, actually pay for season tickets. But others reportedly get seats from record companies, film studios and corporate sponsors. Oh, and they also get a private entrance, special parking and courtside food and beverage service. I have just three words: "Must be nice"

Ramen is a type of noodle dish that is very popular in Japan and Asia. In Japan there are many noodle shops where people eat standing. Everyone has to bend up and down all the time in order to eat, those who are tall obviously have to bend more. Since the Japanese are so proud and good about designing every day products that make life more comfortable (eg super-toilet seats) why don't they design height-adjustable ramen tables or benches so people don't have to bend all the time while they eat? I just arrived in Beijing flying with Air China on economy departing from Frankfurt. One would expect that in a 10 hour flight, in-flight entertainment would be provided. Well, there were no monitors on the seats and I didn't like the music programs they had either. I took out my iphone to keep myself busy and they told me to turn it off. Why doesn't Apple or Google install their new phones on flights who don't offer in-flight entertainment? An iphone costs $600, that times say 300 seats is 180K, let's say another 20K for installation costs and for a total of 200K the cell makers get to promote their gadgets to all passengers. I don't doubt every passenger will spend hours playing/tweaking the phone and by entertaining with movies, music, games, applications or web surfing we get a most positive experience and become pretty familiar with the product. Some flight attendants count passengers manually or using a hand counter, every time you click on it it adds a number, then they write down in a piece of paper the total number of passengers, vips or extra crews. This is a process that can be automated with an electronic passenger recognition system above seats.

Ticket sales, online ratings, reviews can give us an idea of how good a movie is. I think a better indicator would be that extra little time an audience spends on their seats just after the movie has ended and the credits play on the screen. I would trust this indicator more in figuring out how good a movie was. If the cinema goers didn't rush to the exit as soon as the movie finished, that means it must have been really good!
