please show me an obituary that says some bad things about a person. i bet there isn't any but if there was i would call that an honest one. why are we so nice to people in obituaries? does death deserve so much respect? bs! for every nice thing we include in an obituary we should also write a bad one. that's honesty. that's being fair to someone. if you think that's bs check the results below

Commenting on this previous post about the "Best consumer polls", I was thinking about a very common issue that almost all of us are very fond of. The cover of truth. In order not to distress others, people usually use indirect ways to express themselves. I remember that during my high school years I was not very lovable from my classmates because I was always straight and honest to them, which is something they like now. However, when you talk to strangers the "rule" is that you will try to be polite or indirect in order not to make him/her feel sad. Why people can't express themselves without the fear of being accused of being too honest? If there is a palpable fact, why should someone try the oblique way? Why should telling the truth nowadays be a shame or a well-covered lie that may lead to truth???

Sarkozy had promised the French people that, unlike Francois Miteran and Jacques Chirac, he won't keep his health a state secret. Details of his medical exams and checkups would be made public. When he fainted while jogging and ushered to hospital, Sarkozy kept his word and announced the details of his heart malfunction. That was the honest thing to do. Perhaps too honest. Here's what I'm thinking. Would Sarkozy exhibit the same amount of honesty if his heart failed him during sex with Carla Bruni? Even if he wanted to be totally honest about it, would the French people want to know that their President's heart failed during sex? Here's why I am not so convinced that the full details of the incident would come out. (read more)

Here's my worldview on this. I don't think it does because it would have driven Hollywood out of business. Imagine a world of action movies where there is no torture, no violence and no pain during interrogation. Can you imagine Kiefer Sutherland in 24 dressed in a kitchen apron preparing truth-syrup psychoactive cookies to be served with tea and coffee at CTU? It takes all the fun away. (read more)

I'd like to know if it's true that all good-looking women have the fantasy to sleep once in their life with a man who is short and not very 'handsome'. If you're good-looking, please be honest about it.

Introducing the Life Straw. Makes dirty water clean with a sip. Costs $2, kills waterborne bacteria, lasts a lifetime. Life-saving for people in developing countries and great for travelers. Would you ever use it though? Be honest...

Don't you just hate people who think they know everything?
I live in a small country but I have lived in the past in different countries and I notice that the smaller the country it is the more people tend to pretend they know everything.
I went to this small expensive place yesterday with my girlfriend who happens to be from France. It was a French restaurant with a cuisine that wasn't french at all (my gf is from France and I have lived in france for about 4 years). (read more)

Not that this is the most pressing concern of mankind, but if I had to tell you my honest thoughts on this topic I would say a bikini which extends a woman's leg-length, flattens her tummy, lifts her cleavage and makes her feel like Angelina Jolie (but without the six kids in tow) is probably the perfect bikini to invent.
