"30 years of rapture before the Cigarette. Now, when I see others sacrifice to my former idol, I do not understand them, I consider them madmen or losers. If a 'vice' we have overcome becomes so foreign to us, how not to stay transfixed before the one we haven't yet practised?" Cioran (read more)

Do you think we can fight video games addiction by making annoyingly monotonous versions of a video game, then have the game switch from the regular version to the monotonous one when a close friend, girlfriend, boyfriend or family member thinks we're getting too addicted to it? The benefit with extreme, annoying monotony is that the addict gets upset with the game and not with the people around him telling him he's addicted. He loses interest in the game 'naturally'. Any other ideas out there?

I love to drink green tea, every day I have two cups of powder-stirred green tea (matcha). When I told my friend who is a coffee-addict himself that I am addicted to green tea, he pointed out to me that I am not addicted to tea but to chocolate. I disagreed but I now realize that I must always have a small bite of chocolate with my tea otherwise matcha is too bitter. In Japan tea is always served with something sweet on the side. Could it be that I am not addicted to tea and addicted to chocolate instead? Is green tea a decoy to cover my chocolate addiction? I'm probably addicted to both I think. Do you have similar experience?

AMAZED about this brilliant innovation called the Eco-pedal. When on-board computers detect wasteful acceleration the pedal presses upwards and results in a 5-10% increase in fuel efficiency. Full of ENVY because it was developed by Nissan, a Japanese company. Why couldn't the USA be the leader in eco-friendly innovations? Why are we so addicted to oil and not addicted to finding ways to reduce our addiction? Every little bit helps and it all adds up but we are still debating whether we should be drilling in Alaska...

Riots in Greece are still going on and violent student protests are fast spreading to France. Why? Could it be that tear gas is addictive? Painful at the start but pleasurable in the fast run required in protests? Is it time to pause social analysis on the issue and conduct chemicals research or should we wait until we see police using tear gas without their masks on? Or are the protests a live chemicals research experiment by the government? What?? Shouldn't I say that in public? :)

Can you imagine it? I can't. I would struggle to get through the day without my fix. In that sense it's not much different from any other addiction. If you can't have it then you begin to exhibit withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms could include:

Feeling of purposelessness in life. (read more)

Sometimes I stare out my window
Wishing my remote control
Could change the channel on the faces I see;
Faces that say, life is not a game,
But everyday is a battle with pain
Faces marred with oppression.
They sit in the soot of depression, (read more)
