If motels are usually the meeting places for criminals and luxury hotels in foreign countries are targets for terrorists then that leaves out youth hostels as the safest and cheapest place to stay. When I travel I always choose to stay in them and after the killings in India I will cancel all my bookings in Mumbai. To cancel is the only way I can afford to stay in such hotels anyway! :D

If you've been to Athens and used the metro you must have noticed that entry to the station requires ticket validation but unlike London or New York where entry requires the opening of gates to pass through, there is no such thing in Athens. The ticket is valid for 1.5 hours and the price is same for all destinations which makes the ticket transferable. If you see a ticket left around on the validation machine, it's probably because someone left it there to be used by someone else. Next time you're in Athens and use the metro, check to see if there is a ticket on the validation machine before buying a new one.

Found it on Yahoo..very interesting..
A search on "drink salt water" in Yahoo!'s ever-ready search box linked us to Water Science for Schools, an educational site from the USGS (United States Geological Survey). There we learned the difference between salt water, which contains concentrations of dissolved salts, and fresh water. Salinity is usually measured by the weight or amount of salt contained in water expressed as "parts per million" or ppm. (read more)

(Sorry for my poor English.)
I bet people always connecting HK to concrete buildings.
However, I can tell you there are many interesting places. I have visited a nice park in a old town, Kowloon City, last week. It is in Chinese style and I believe you will love it once you visit there. (read more)

In Wales (UK) there is a village called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (58 letters), which in English means "Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of Saint Tysilio near the red cave." The locals call it Llanfairpwll. Llanfai.....gogogoch.com is the longest single word domain name in the world. If you don't believe me, copy and paste it on your browser to visit. If a tourist memorizes the whole name and pronounces it accurately, don't they deserve to receive free holidays there? After all, how many people in the world know about this place and how many of them who will ever visit can pronounce it right? Come on, free holidays to Llanfairpwll...#$%^**$% lol

If I can't afford to pay the full airfare why can't I just pay the luggage-overweight cost and fly baggage class? Or fly almost-free by spreading the extra overweight cost among a few other passengers who are flying under their maximum luggage limit. Obviously, I will pay each one of my flight's sponsors a small tip for sharing my weight and for letting me depend on their sharing my kilos again in another flight. (read more)

I was asked the other day by a passenger who forgot to bring his book with him if there were any magazines or newspapers I could bring him to read. I was able to give him a few spare newspapers but I was thinking that in long flights airlines can come up with a way for passengers to swap with other passengers reading material (books, magazines, newspapers) that they brought with them and finished reading. When we serve you the drink in a flight it's always in an open plastic cup that is never filled all the way to the top. The reason is to avoid spilling in case of turbulence. In case of severe turbulence, however, your drink will spill or splash around if the cup is open. I've seen it happening, worst being when your drink lands on your clothes. I think that all airline companies should use lids and avoid any chance of spilling your drink in the case of severe turbulence. Do you agree?

7:20 p.m. - 8:05 p.m., Greece
I had the most memorable evening swim complemented by a very touching and beautiful gesture. A love note on the beach meant for me.
I arrived at the beach on a beautiful sunset around 7:20pm. The place was empty and calm. I could only see two girls a few meters to my right lying on the beach facing the sunset and apparently taking looks at me as I made my way into the water. (read more)
