The problem with safety convex mirrors for narrow street intersections or corners is that the cars have to be close in order for the drivers to be alerted. My idea for a new type of alert system that uses photocell detection for the coming cars and flashes a red light warning is a better one. The red light color will increase its intensity as the car approaches the corner. The driver can be warned of cars or other objects without having to come too close to the mirror to see.

Imagine there was a jacket someone could buy, which could make all shy's people difficulty to approach others disappear! Say, you are standing at the bar and there is on the other corner a woman that attracts you. You just have to smile her. If she smiles back...then you just turn your back and your mobile phone number or any other information you would like to show, appears flashing! What could be more humoristic and innovative? In this way a date could "flash out" from nowhere! The problem could be if many would wear this. It'd seem like you were stuck in the traffic! :) The question is would you buy a jacket like that? I would...it would be fun

I was just looking through this site and began to search for posts by category. As I was doing this, I realized the difference between the number of postings on topics such as business or entertainment as opposed to religion. Then I wondered, wouldn’t it be interesting if the site indicated the number of posting per category as well as the demographics of users by country, sex and age? I assume this would indicate what the things that our society values the most are and how we evolve… (read more)

Are you the kind of guy that always orders coke and people look at you disapprovingly?
Here's your solution!
Go to the bar and ask for Coke (or even milk!! ) .. Just plain Coke with a disappointed look on your face. If someone looks at you strangely tell him you have an ulcer :) (read more)

Did you know that you can pay to get a guided tour of the shanty slums of Rio de Janeiro also known as favelas? If you ever saw the films "City of God" or "City of Men" they are impoverished neighborhoods where drug crimes and gang war often take place.
Many tourist agencies in the last few years offer packages to get a guided tour of the slums and even meet the drug dealers. Well, apparently the department of security of Rio ordered an investigation on the possible meetings between tourists and the very own drug dealers that the police is trying to capture. (read more)

A democratic election is one based on people's votes. I don't understand why people who were not elected have power and authority to decide on an election outcome. I think we should remove super-delegates and electorates in US party and national elections. They complicate the vote and make the systems less democratic and transparent. (read more)

Most scientists and science-fiction writers imagine a future where humans can implant microchips in their brains in order to increase memory space and the amount of knowledge that can be stored. What about the reverse?
What about finding ways to extract in digital form the existing knowledge we carry in our brains and store it in microchips called brainchips? This way we would preserve all existing human knowledge acquired so far and be able to clone human brains in seconds!

The only thing that can stop rising oil prices is a reduction in its world demand. Public transport and even hitchhiking can help. I think a website that matches people who share similar routes to work every day and arrange to split the fuel cost by using one car can help. Bus companies can also offer group transport for many people that use similar routes. More efficiency or higher prices?
