The lower the expectations others have that I succeed the better the chances that I will actually do so. Freedom to act without constantly thinking whether I will meet the targets others have set for me make my actions more fun, enjoyable and rewarding. When you have nothing to lose, you always come out with the feeling of having won even if your targets haven't been met. In everything I do, I always remind myself to manage others expectations first and set them as low as possible. While that might hurt my ego a bit, it broadens freedom of action. The more you are discounted, the more you will be counted. What's your philosophy on this? |
