Why do we associate crossed legs with ease and relaxation if this position puts stress and injure on our knees?
Stuck in the airport from dusk till dawn waiting for my flight, tired and exhausted I fell asleep for about 2 hours sitting with my legs crossed, one of top of the other. Woke up from terrible pain in my left knee
I figured it was from the stress the weight of my leg applied to the knee. With stretching and walk the pain went away.
A few rows from where I was sitting I saw this beautiful woman wearing a nice skirt and shoes sitting with her legs crossed. I then remembered the movie "Basic Instinct" and got this funny thought. Maybe the reason why Sharon Stone had to switch her legs while interrogated was because of too much pain and stress on her knees area? Was it strictly an act of pure-knee self-interest? :) |
