You have to be a free or Premium Member to share thoughts. Click on the Share It link that appears on the top right corner of every page and follow the instructions. You enter a title and text description and a few tags. You also have the option to upload images and add links to your thought.



• Can I edit thoughts I posted?    back to top

Yes you can. Both Free and Premium Members can edit a thought they posted or a thought they have saved as a draft.



• What is a duplicate thought?    back to top

Posted thoughts which are then copied and re-posted are considered duplicate. Thinkaloo does not condone plagiarism or abuse of copyright. Thinkaloo cannot be held responsible or liable when it comes to duplicate postings. Duplicates which are brought to our attention are removed at our discretion. Thinkaloo is about creativity, originality and the pursuit of knowledge. We understand people often come up with new thoughts based on thoughts and ideas they have read or heard somewhere else. Improving on another thought is encouraged. In general, a thought is not a duplicate if a) it has developed from another thought with an aim to improve it b) paraphrases the original thought and differs from it in at least one feature We kindly ask that you avoid copying and pasting what other people have posted or any copyrighted material. Thinkaloo is about valuing knowledge and brainwork. We expect that you use best-intentions and common sense when sharing thoughts.

Support Thoughts

You have to be a Premium Member to support a thought. Supporting a thought is a two-way process: You support and fund the thoughts you like the most. Likewise, those who like your thoughts the most support and fund you. All transactions are denominated in US dollars. The initial funds to support a thought come from your Premium Membership fee. Of the $19.99 Premium Membership fee, $10 is instantly deposited into your Support Thoughts account. The money in this account can only be used to support thoughts of other people. Likewise other Premium Members must use the money in their "Support Thoughts" account to fund your thoughts and/or those of other members. The funds you receive for your thought add to the total value for your thought ($). We call this value Worth ($). The Worth of a thought is always displayed below its text description. In order to support and fund a thought you like, click on the Support this thought link that accompanies every thought description. A small window will appear below. Just enter the amount of support you wish to give and click on the Support button. That’s it, you are done!



• How can I rate a thought?    back to top

If you ever rated a video on YouTube or another site, you will find this extremely easy to do. Below the description of each thought, you will always see 5 stars with the phrase Rate It on their left. As you hover your mouse over the stars, they turn red. Click on the stars that correspond to the rating you want to give and you are done. That’s it, you have just rated your first thought!

Because at thinkaloo we reward popularity and a good rating for all the thoughts you share with us. All your thoughts that exceed 20,000 views will receive $2 for every 2,000 views they reach after the first 20,000 views. • What is the future worth of a thought?    back to top

Every thought at thinkaloo has a value ($). We call it Worth ($). The future worth of any thought is the guess you make as to how much money that thought will worth in 45 days. If you take a guess and your guess is within a 5% range of the worth of the thought on day 45, you earn money. Buying into the future worth of a thought in the thinkaloo market is a fun game to try. This is why: You can buy for as little as $1: minimum price You can buy at any price above $1: you decide the price You can make a profit when your guess is correct



• How do I buy into the future worth of a thought?    back to top

You must be a Premium Member in order to buy into the future worth of a thought. If you want to make a purchase, click on the buy future worth link that is right below every thought description. You are asked to enter two amounts in order to make the purchase 1.  The amount you believe this thought will worth in 45 days 2.  The amount you wish to pay. The minimum is $1 If you want to add more funds in your account click on the link add funds. Every 45 days the future worth of every thought re-opens for sale. You have two weeks from that date to make the purchase.



• If I make a profit, how do I calculate it?    back to top

All buyers who made a correct guess share the profits proportionately to the amount each paid to make the purchase. Let's give an example. Suppose there are 6 buyers total. 3 buyers (Adam, Bruce and Caryn) made a correct guess. Adam bought into the correct guess for $10, Bruce for $20 and Caryn for $30. This gives a total of $10+$20+$30 = $60 The remaining 3 buyers (Dick, Eric and Freddy) all made an incorrect guess. Dick paid $15, Bruce $25 and Caryn $35. This gives a total of $15+$25+$35 = $75 Adam, Bruce and Caryn are entitled to share a gross profit of $75. The final amount they will share will be (75*95%) - (6*$0.10) = $70.65. This is because there is a 5% market particiaption fee and a 10¢ fee for every sale that goes to the originator of the thought. Adam had paid $10 so his proportionate share of the net amount is (10/60)*$70.65 = $11.78 Bruce had paid $20, so his proportionate share is (20/60)*$70.65 = $23.55 Finally, Caryn had paid $30 so her proportionate share of the net amount is (30/60)*$70.65 = $35.32



• When is a purchase invalid?    back to top

A purchase is termed invalid at the end of the two-week opening for purchases if: a) There are no buyers b) All of the buyers' guesses fall in the same range In the case of b) above, money spent to buy into the future worth of a thought is fully refunded. By buying into the future worth of a thought Premium Members purchase a service aimed at their entertainment. The market is available to Premium Members only.

You can manage your funds if you are a Premium Member only. Under My Account , click on the Manage My Funds link to add, transfer or withdraw funds to your accounts. You have 4 accounts at thinkaloo: The Post Thoughts account is mainly for members who sign up for free. It shows you how many thoughts you have left to share. All free members can post up to 10 thoughts. Premium Members can post an unlimited number of thoughts. TheSupport Thoughts account is for Premium Members only. It records all transactions you make supporting thoughts posted by others and all transactions related to adding funds to this account. The Buy Future Worth account is for Premium Members only. It records all transactions you make buying into future worth and all transactions related to adding, transfer and withdrawal of funds. The My Worth account is available to both free and Premium Members. It records all the support your thoughts receive and all transfers or withdrawals of funds you make as a Premium Member.

You have to be a Premium Member to add funds to your accounts in order to post & support thoughts or buy into future worth. Click on the add funds link that is on every window that opens when you want to make a transaction.



• How do I transfer funds between my accounts?    back to top

You have to be a Premium Member to transfer funds between your accounts. Click on the add / transfer funds link that can be found in the relevant pages of the site to add funds. You can transfer funds in the following three ways: From your Buy Future Worth account to your Support Thoughts account From your My Worth account to your Buy Future Worth account From your My Worth account to your Support Thoughts account

You have to be a Premium Member and your accounts must reach $80 before you can withdraw funds. Click on the Manage My Funds link under My Account to make a request. You can withdraw your funds from your Buy Future Worth and My Worth accounts. The payment is done electronically into your PayPal account.
